What a fabulous start to the new year with new clients, familiar faces and exciting campaigns on the horizon. The Tsuki crew are back, feeling refreshed and revitalised and ready to hit the ground running.

We kick started 2012 with our own Tsuki seminar sharing the love we usually reserve for clients on the Tsuki brand.

Over intense conversation, debate and laughter the Tsuki team tackled goal setting, both personally and professionally, discovered the unique personal orientation of each individual and the company holistically and shared the vision for Tsuki 2012. After a delicious lunch we continued into the afternoon sharing insights into billing efficiency, time management, resource management and discussing learnings from articles on ‘The Author Mentality', ‘Putting Customers Ahead' and ‘Key Qualities for Sales Success'.

Here's to 2012 and sharing an exciting ride together!

Tsuki supports Children's Charity Network 'Books for Kids'

December 23rd, 2011 by Tsuki.

This Christmas Tsuki will be donating to the Children's Charity Network ‘Books for Kids' program.

We are proud to say our donation of $500 will provide 65 new books to children across Australia, through collaborations with schools, social service agencies, preschools and early childhood centres.

The Children's Charity Network is a not-for-profit community organisation that creates tailored programs that help build confidence and self-esteem in children.

Studies have proven that access to age-appropriate books and reading aloud to children are essential to developing language and reading skills.

At Tsuki, we support the organisations belief that by gaining confidence and self-esteem, children become more resilient and are better equipped to thrive, to achieve their goals in life and fulfil their dreams; whatever these dreams may be.

PR is all about great storytelling and at Tsuki we use this art form to share information about our clients and campaigns. Plus we also LOVE books and believe in the value of reading and sharing great stories.

Wishing you a merry festive season.

Love from the team at Tsuki!

Tsuki celebrates the 15th Sydney Film School Festival

December 20th, 2011 by Tsuki.

On Thursday 15th December Sydney Film School celebrated its 15th Festival (as seen in MX). Held over two days at the Chauvel Cinema in Paddington, the festival features student and international film screenings, panel discussions and events.

Veteran filmmaker Paul Cox was engaged as this year's keynote speaker.

Paul Cox's prolific career has produced 22 feature films and 11 documentaries, with credits as writer, director and producer for films. He is most known for his profound humanism, poignant and realistic focus on relationships, evident in his two stand-out films ‘Vincent: The Life and Death of Vincent van Gogh' (1987) and ‘The Diaries of Vaslav Nijinsky' (2001). Cox is also the subject of the documentary feature film, On Borrowed Time.

The evening included Paul Cox presenting a $20,000 scholarship to 17 year old Julian Hartley for his short film 'Due Back Saturday', a witty comedy about not judging people.

The Robin Anderson Scholarship, run annually by Sydney Film School asks entrants to submit short films. The national scholarship win means that Julian Hartley will now move to Sydney, study at Sydney Film School and learn to become a filmmaker, a step towards making his dream film career a reality.

The festival also featured the premiere screening of Gary Sofarelli's ‘Lotus Sonny', the inaugural winner of the Industry Advisory Board Pitch Competition. Sofarelli was recently featured in the Courier Mail

Sydney Film School graduate Gary Sofarelli's film, ‘Lotus Sonny' is a sexual awakening drama about the psychological preparation one teenager goes through in order to be able to take the sexual plunge with his girlfriend.

Sydney Film School with ABC Big Ideas present ‘Visual Literacy: the value of teaching film in high schools’

October 26th, 2011 by Tsuki.

On November 1st, Sydney Film School will explore the topic: ‘Visual Literacy: the value of teaching film in high schools’.

The influence film and video have on today’s youth has raised concerns about the kind of attitudes this can instil. Challenging these concerns, Sydney Film School have invited an experienced education and creative arts panel who will argue that the problem is not so much with the quantity of films and videos that young people watch but with the passive, indiscriminating nature of so much of their viewing and with the quality of the films they choose to watch.

Presented with ABC Big Ideas the panel discussion will be pre-recorded and broadcast on ABC Radio National through the Big Ideas program.

Moderated by Lynden Barber, panellists include: Tanya Schneider, Head of Visual Arts at Waverley College Sydney, Dr Marianne Hulsbosch, senior lecturer Visual Art & Design Education at the University of Sydney, Ben Ferris, Sydney Film School Director and a film writer / director / producer with Australian production company Artemis Projects, Epiphany Morgan, Sydney Film School Graduate and young filmmaker and Benjamin Gilmour, writer and filmmaker, director of the film ‘Son of a Lion’ (2008) and author of the book ‘Warrior Poets’ (Pier 9), published in the same year.

Sydney Film School Director Ben Ferris says this discussion aims to demonstrate the important impact teaching film can have on teenagers.

“Film is a universal language, a popular method of entertainment and a powerful method of communicating. By changing the way we teach students now we can create a positive influence on the films they make in the future,” said Mr Ferris.

RSVP to attend the event by 28 October.
